Latvian confectioneries company Laima invites people to come to Chocolate Festival

Continuing the World Chocolate Day tradition adopted in 2012, the beloved Latvian confectioneries brand invites Riga’s residents and guests to come to Chocolate Festival next Tuesday, the 11th of July.
In 2012 Laima introduced the tradition of celebrating the World Chocolate Day in Latvia. Every year Laima organises exciting and sweet festivities for Riga’s residents and guests.

In 1995 the World Chocolate Day was celebrated for the first time by chocolate lovers in France. Nowadays this sweet holiday is celebrated by people around the world.

In the US the World Chocolate Day is celebrated more often – three times a year: the World Chocolate Day on the 11th of July, and National Chocolate Days on the 7th of July and the 28th of October.

During the planned event visitors will be able to enjoy various chocolate treats and drinks in the cafe located in Lapsas House. Vīnkalni open air pizzeria will offer both salty and chocolate pizzas.

The Chocolate Festival will be held in the yard of Laima’s chocolate factory between 18:00 and 23:00. Visitors will be offered a varied programme of festivities for young and old.
Every visitor will have a chance to experience various activities, including a visit to Laima’s Song Celebration Installations, pick their own national outfit styled after popular Latvian sweets like Serenāde, Lukss, Vāverīte, Rudzupuķe, Sarkanā magone vai Lācītis Ķepainītis and others, as well as receive temporary tattoos and engage in other activities.

The youngest guests will be able to participate in five different drawing workshops and tabletop activities courtesy of BrainGames.

At 20:00 DIVAS improvisational theatre will take the stage and entertain guests. In the evening guests will be entertained by a performance from Katrīnas Gupalo and Producenti music band.
People who come dressed in red will receive snacks from Laima.
During the Chocolate Festival a 30% discount will be active for various chocolate snacks in all Laima confectionery stores.
