Tax revenue in the first five months of 2023 reached EUR 5.387 billion, which is EUR 166.4 million or 3.2% more than planned, as reported by representatives of the Ministry of Finance.
At the same time, tax revenue in the firs five months of 2023 was EUR 600.9 million or 12.6% higher when compared with the same period of 2022.
Tax revenue of the state general budget in the first five months was EUR 5.078 billion, which is EUR 173.9 million or 3.5% more than planned.
State budget tax revenue reached EUR 4.241 billion, which is EUR 114 million or 2.8% more than planned. The municipal budget tax revenue was EUR 837 million, which is EUR 60 million or 7.7% more than planned.
Tax revenue in the state-funded pension system reached EUR 309.1 million in the first five months, which is EUR 7.3 million or 2.3% less than planned.
In the first five months of 2023 the biggest portion of tax revenue came from social insurance contributions – EUR 1.913 billion, which is 0.2% less than planned.
At the same time, revenue from VAT was EUR 1.642 billion, which is 5% more than planned. PIT revenue reached EUR 870.7 million, which is 2.8% more than planned.
Excise tax revenue reached EUR 455.8 million, which is 2.9% more than planned. Excise tax revenue for petrol products reached EUR 243.3 million, which is 6.1% more. Excise tax revenue for tobacco products reached EUR 103.2 million (1.6% more). Excise tax for alcoholic beverages was EUR 80.3 million (3.4% less). Excise tax for beer reached EUR 17 million (4.8% less).
Corporate income tax revenue in the first five months reached EUR 210.3 million, which is 26.6% more than planned. Real estate tax revenue reached EUR 149.7 million, which is 10% more than planned.
Vehicle operation tax revenue reached EUR 47.2 million, which is 1% more than planned. Natural resource tax revenue reached EUR 30.6 million, which is 9.2% more than planned.
Customs tax revenue in the first five months of 2023 reached EUR 24.7 million, which is 28.3% less than planned. Lottery and gambling tax revenue was EUR 20.7 million, which is 15.3% more than planned.
In total, it is planned to collect EUR 13.058 billion in taxes in 2023.
