The Saeima faction of the political party Latvia in First Place (LPV) has decided to give all of its nine votes to Combined List (AS) political party’s presidential candidate Uldis Pīlēns, as confirmed by LPV leader, Saeima deputy Ainārs Šlesers.
The decision was made after meeting with Pīlēns.
Now it’s Pīlēns’ responsibility to secure remaining support from other Saeima factions, said Šlesers.
As previously reported, there are three candidates announced for the upcoming presidential elections.
Combined List political party’s presidential candidate is their founder and businessman Pīlēns, New Unity’s candidate is Latvia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Edgars Rinkēvičs, and the Progressive Party’s presidential candidate is public management expert Elīna Pinto.
