Russia has announced that it is fighting Ukrainian saboteur groups coming across the border, but the Ukrainian government says that the Russian opposition is organizing the unrest, writes Reuters.
The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, informed that a group of Ukrainian saboteurs entered the territory of Russia, but was repelled. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian media Hromadske referred to the Ukrainian intelligence services and indicated that two Russian opposition groups made up of Russian citizens – the Liberty of Russia Legion and the Russian Volunteer Corps – were responsible for the attacks.
Gladkov said that the explosion injured at least eight people and damaged three residential buildings and one administrative building. He also said that many local residents have left, and an anti-terrorist operation has been launched in the city, movement, and communication have been restricted.

On the afternoon of Monday, the 22nd of May, the Russian Volunteer Corps published a video showing a fighter looking at what appears to be a hijacked armored vehicle. Another footage shows corps fighters driving an armored vehicle along a country road.
Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov informed that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been informed and had given the order to expel the saboteurs.
Telegram channel Baza, which is associated with the Russian security services, published information that signs of fighting are visible around three settlements along the main road leading from Ukraine to Russia. Several villages remained without electricity and water supply.
Meanwhile, Russia continues its intense attacks, including missile strikes, in Ukraine. At least 12 settlements in the vicinity of Bahmut were heavily shelled.
Serhiy Cherevatyi, the representative of the eastern group of the Ukrainian army, told television: “In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian troops have made steady progress, advancing 250-400 meters on the flanks and establishing a foothold. Even though these advances are gradual, it is better when such advances are well planned.”
