Industrial production output in Latvia in March, when compared with the same month of 2022, has gone down by 6.3%. This is a more rapid drop when compared with the average in the European Union (but still far from record holders), according to the data published by Eurostat for 26 EU member states on Monday, the 15th of May.
A drop was observed in March in 18 EU member states for which information is available. The drop in Ireland was -26.1%, -16.6% in Lithuania, -12.6% in Estonia and -9% in Bulgaria.
The biggest increase was observed in Malta (+12.5%), Denmark (+8.9%) and Spain (+5.6%).
At the same time, the average industrial production output in EU member states in March, when compared with the same month of 2022, was 1.3%. In Eurozone it was 1.4%. When compared with February, industrial production output in the EU has gone down by 3.6%. In Eurozone it has gone down by 4.1%.
Compared with the previous month, industrial production output has gone down in 16 countries. The most rapid was observed in Ireland (-26.3%), Sweden (-3.9%) and Germany (-3.1%). The biggest increase, on the other hand, was observed in Finland (+3%), Slovenia (+2.3%), as well as Czechia and Slovakia (+1.7% in both).
In Latvia industrial production output has gone down by 1%. In Estonia it has gone down by 0.9%. In Lithuania it has gone up by 0.9%. No data is available for Cyprus.
