Last week concluded with sunny and dry weather in Latvia. Nights on the weekend were cool, at times air temperature dropped as far as -1° C… -2° C. On Sunday air temperature reached +20° C for the first time this year.
This week, as atmospheric pressure goes down and cyclone activity increases, sunny and warm weather will be replaced by rainy and colder weather. At the beginning of the week air temperature will remain relatively high. However, by the middle of the week it will have rapidly gone down. Almost the entire week will be rainy.
Meteorologists also predict possible thunderstorms with heavy rainfall.
On Monday, the 24th of April, there will be more clouds in Kurzeme. A thunderstorm is also expected during the day. In the rest of the country the day will be sunny. Air temperature will reach +17° C… +22° C (+11° C… +16° C along the coast).
On Tuesday western part of the country will see clouds, whereas eastern territories will see volatile clouds with moments of clear sky. Rain is expected in parts of Latvia. There is also the possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rainfall. The wind will blow from the south will be slow to moderate. The wind may increase in speed during a storm. At night air temperature will stay at +5° C… +12° C. During the day air temperature may reach +20 C at times.
As cyclone activity continues, rain and strong wind will appear every now and then in the middle of the week. Wednesday will be mostly cloudy. Many parts of the country will experience rainfall. Weather will be similar on Thursday. With colder masses of air flowing to the country, air temperature will go down: it will be +6° C… +11° C during the day (+11° C… +16° C at times), whereas at night air temperature may drop as far as +1° C… +6° C (0° C… -1° C in some areas).
Weather conditions will remain similar at the end of the week – some rain every now and, as well as air temperature at +10° C during the day.
