On Monday, the 17th of April, a bus caught fire in Riga, Lubānas Street. No reports of any injuries, as reported by Rīgas Satiksme.
The municipal public transport company explains that the reason for the fire was that the bus was old.

Currently it is unknown what caused the fire. However, the company reports that once smoke was noticed coming from the engine, the Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) was called in immediately.
25 people were evacuated from the bus before VUGD arrived.
The fire also spread to 5 m2 area of a bus stop near which the bus had stopped.
Rīgas satiksme also notes the company has plans to perform an investigation to determine what happened.
