In 2022 Latvian Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) fined political parties and private persons a total of EUR 25 120 and ordered them to repay a total of EUR 220 159 to the state budget, according to the bureau’s operational report.
Last year KNAB commenced a total of 87 administrative violation cases against political parties, legal and private persons. A total of 99 decisions were made.
During inspections of violations, KNAB made a total of 60 decisions in various administrative violation cases involving political parties, legal and private persons. Fines worth a total of EUR 25 120 were applied and a total 25 decisions to enforce the repayment of finances worth a total of EUR 220 159 to the state budget.
KNAB did not report more detailed information about the identities of the punished individuals and organisations.
KNAB reported that more information may be reported after information about political forces for 2021 and election income and expenditures of 2022 has been compiled.
