Meteorologists promise peaceful and rainy weather in Latvia

The week will start off with relatively peaceful weather – rain every now and then, wind speed will be slow and fog will form in many parts of the country. This will complicate driving conditions, as reported by Latvian State Environment, Geology and Meteorology Centre.
Daytime air temperature will reach +10° C. Night-time air temperature will remain above 0° C. At the end of the week weather will be dictated by cyclone activity – weather is expected to be rich with precipitation.
On Monday, the 20th of March, weather will be dictated by a low atmospheric pressure area from the north. Weather is expected to be cloudy with moments of clear sky. Rainfall is expected in western and central regions in the afternoon. Daytime air temperature will reach +8° C… +13° C (+6° C… +8° C along the coast).
On Tuesday, the 21st of March, the weather will be cloudy and rainy. Eastern parts of the country will experience wet snow.

Visibility will suffer from fog in some areas.

At night wind speed will be low. The wind will calm down during the day. At night the wind be slow and will blow from the west. Air temperature at night and during the day is expected around +1° C… +6° C.
On Wednesday, the 22nd of March, weather will be dictated by low atmospheric pressure. A precipitation zone will pass through Latvia in the middle of the night – many parts of the country will experience rainfall. The wind will be slow to moderate and will blow from the south. At night air temperature will drop to -2° C… +3° C, whereas daytime air temperature will reach +4° C… +8° C.
Current forecasts indicate multiple cyclones will pass through Latvia’s northern territory from the west, bringing precipitation. Wind speed will remain slow to moderate. On Wednesday it will become strong. At night, air temperature will drop to +1° C… +5° C. During the day air temperature will reach +5° C… +10° C.
