There are plans to construct a noise-dampening wall near Vidzeme motorway (A2) in Vangaži. This project’s costs are estimated at around EUR 1.7 million, as confirmed by representatives of road maintenance company Latvian State Roads (LVC).
LVC representatives say this decision was made to reduce the level of noise coming from Vidzeme motorway (A2). A combined noise-dampening wall is planned to be constructed between 31.15 km and 32.25 km of this motorway. The wall will be 3 – 5 m tall with a total length of 1 055 m.
The wall needs to be to a level that ensures a specific standard for noise absorption and isolation.
There were two contenders in the tender for the construction of the wall. The contract was signed with Tilts LLC for a price of EUR 1 701 970 (without VAT). The price proposed by the other contender – ACB LLC – was EUR 2 194 246 (without VAT). The noise-dampening solution was developed by Projekts EAE LLC for EUR 33 333 (without VAT).
The project is planned to commence no later than the 1st of April 2023 and to be completed within 80 days.
