Latvia’s unemployment in November reportedly higher than average in EU and Eurozone

In November 2022 unemployment in Latvia was 7.2%, and was higher than the average in the European Union and Eurozone, according to data published by Eurostat on the 9th of January.
The average unemployment level in the EU, according to seasonally adjusted data, was 6% in November, whereas unemployment in Eurozone member states was 6.5%. According to available data, unemployment among EU member states was higher in Spain (12.4%), Greece (11.4%), Italy (7.8%) and Cyprus (7.5%).

Unemployment in Sweden was on a level similar to Latvia.

Unemployment was the lowest in Czech Republic (2.7%), Poland and Germany (3% in both), as well as Malta (3.2%). In Estonia unemployment was 5.5%, and in Lithuania it was 5.9%. Eurostat data indicates that in November 2022 there were 12.95 million jobless people (10.849 million in Eurozone).
