In the airfield barracks of the Air Force in Wiener Neustadt, near Vienna, on the morning of the 6th of January, there was a shooting among the military personnel, reports Reuters.
One person died in the incident and one soldier was injured.
Austrian news agency APA reported that a soldier at a guard post opened fire during an argument, and a higher-ranking officer fired shots at him.
The representative of the Austrian Ministry of Defense, Michael Bauer, wrote on Twitter that the shooting took place shortly before 7 o’clock in the morning.
The killed soldier was said to be 20 years old and the incident happened about 60 kilometers from Vienna, the capital of Austria.
