Riga International Airport still has not recovered pre-pandemic passenger numbers

In November 2022 Riga International Airport serviced 434.3 thousand passengers – 1.6 times more when compared with November 2021. Compared with October, the number of serviced passengers went down by 21.4%, according to data from the Central Statistical Bureau (CSP).
The number of serviced passengers still has not reached its pre-pandemic level – compared with November 2019, the airport serviced 21.1% fewer passengers in November 2022.
In November there was a considerable increase in the number of serviced passengers when compared to 2021. However, the total number of flights was 4 384 which 1% less when compared with a year ago.
In 11 months of 2022 the airport serviced 4.9 million passengers, which is 2.9 million or 2.4 times more when compared with the same period of 2021, and 2.5 times more when compared with the same period of 2020.

It is still 31.8% lower when compared with the same period of 2019.

In November 2022 the total volume of received and sent freight and postal correspondence was 1.8 thousand tonnes, which is 1.6% more when compared with October and 46.9% less when compared with November 2021.
In November the airport received 0.7 thousand tonnes of freight and postal correspondence, which is 65.1% lower when compared with November 2021. The volume of sent freight and postal correspondence was one thousand tonnes or 16.6% less.
