Natural gas tariffs will go down for households that are clients of Latvijas gāze JSC (LG) and that have high gas consumption, whereas the tariffs for households that have low gas consumption will go up, according to an entry in the Latvian Herald journal.
For households that consume up to 250 m3 of gas a year, the differentiated end tariff with VAT and excise tax will increase by 11% in 2023 – from 1.8252 EUR/m3 to 2.02508 EUR/m3.
For households that consume between 250 and 500 m3 of gas a year, the end tariff will be reduced by 31.1% – from 1.6896 EUR/m3 to 1.16354 EUR/m3.
For households that consumer between 500 and 25 000 m3 of gas a year, the end tariff will be reduced by 23.8% – from 1.52715 EUR/m3 to 1.166354 EUR/m3.
Differentiated end tariffs will be in use between the 1st of January 2023 and the 30th of April 2023.
The fixed portion of the gas distribution service will increase at the same time.
The fixed fee for the distribution service together with VAT for a load under 6 m3/h will increase by 22% – from EUR 3.27 a month to EUR 3.99 a month, for a load between 6.1 m3 to 10 m3 the fixed fee will increase by 22.4% – from EUR 8.99 to EUR 11 a month, for a load between 10.1 m3 to 16 m3 the fixed fee will increase by 22.4% – from EUR 14.36 to EUR 17.57 a month, for a load between 16.1 m3 to 25 m3 the fee will increase by 22.3% – from EUR 21.91 to EUR 26.9 a month, for a load between 25.1 m3 and 40 m3 the fee will increase by 22.3% – from EUR 32.55 to EUR 39.81 a month.
For gas users with annual consumption under 25 000 m3 tariffs change twice a year – on the 1st of January and the 1st of July.
