As of Thursday, the 8th of December, SEB Bank clients are able to link their private or company payment card to Google Pay to pay for purchases in stores and online, as reported by SEB Bank.
Google Pay is available to Android OS users. According to the bank, this payment option is secure. When a card is digitised it is provided with a unique digital card number tied to a phone or smart device. Clients’ data is not saved on the device, not is it provide to traders during the payment process. Payments using Google Pay are not charged extra.
According to the bank, to start using this new payment option, they need to have an active payment card tied to a SEB Bank account and a Google user account linked to an Android smartphone or smart device that supports NFC payments and Google Pay.
Digitisation of payment cards can be done using SEB mobile app or Google Wallet app. Once the process is complete, clients can leave their payment cards at home and use Google Pay at stores that use contact-free payments.
