Explosions occur at two Russian military airfields

After explosions at two Russian military airfields, three people are dead, and at least eight are injured, the BBC reports.
The explosion of a fuel tank at the military airfield near Ryazan killed three and injured six people. Two more people were injured in the blast at the military base in the Saratov region. The cause of the explosions is unknown, and they follow the release of a satellite video showing increased military activity at the Engels base.
It is believed that Russian long-range bombers are based at Engels airfield in the Saratov region.

The governor of the Saratov region has stated that the security forces are investigating «accidents at military facilities».

BBC Russian news editor Steven Rosenberg says two explosions at two different military bases will fuel speculation that Ukrainian forces are to blame.
Kremlin’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that Vladimir Putin is informed.
